The SPEED-SHELF offers network operators and companies maximum flexibility and scalability for a wide variety of access technologies in a single 19" platform. Connections over ISDN, DSL SDH, PDH and W/CWDM technologies can be realized in one single 19"-rack system with the SPEED-SHELF depending on the network structure and application. The rack system provides 16 slots which can be equipped flexibly with a constantly growing number of terminal adapters, converters, modems and multiplexer systems supporting a variety of enduser interfaces for transmission over the different link technologies. The unique platform simultaneously ensures reliability, accommodates future plans and provides investment protection by reducing the operating costs for complex multi-vendor environments. The administration and monitoring of the modules can be achieved locally or optionally using a SNMP-based NMS infrastructure. The no-fan-needed design, the integrated alarm contact and redundant AC and/or DC power supply with mixed operation capability provides a smooth network operation.
