Description
The SPEED-ADWDM is a compact 1-channel add/drop multiplexer for C/DWDM
applications. One wavelength of a single pair of fibers can be extracted by means of such an add/drop multiplexer while several C/DWDM wavelengths are parallel transmitted.
All incoming wavelengths are received by both line ports in order to extract a required wavelength or application via the “drop”-client port. This unused wavelength can be occupied with a new application using the “add”-port.
This new application and the remaining, non-dropped wavelengths will be conducted back to the second line port for the continuation within the ring or daisy chain.
This functionality is often requested in ring structures to achieve long distances due to the fact that according to the construction significantly improved attenuation values can be realized compared to standard C/DWDM multiplexers.
The SPEED-ADWDM is a purely passive rack mount card for the integration in the 1-slot stand-alone housing, 4-slot SPEED-RACKHOUSING and 20-slot SPEED-CARRIER.
