The SPEED-DUALLINE SFP is an extremely flexible and compact 4-port SFP rack mount card suitable for the universal use in telecommunication networks. This card also represents a cost-effective solution to be used either as an intelligent electrical-to-optical interface converter for SDH (STM-1) or IP (Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet) applications. This type of universal product can even be integrated in purely optical network structures to operate as a SFP-based media and wavelength converter (Multimode/Singlemode/WDM) for protocols such like IP, SDH, Video and storage from 10Mbps to 2.67Gbps. Another main field of application are cost-effective C/DWDM networks in which the SPEED-DUALLINE SFP operates as an intelligent channel card in order to adapt up to two transparent data channels to corresponding wavelengths and output power. An optimal connection to passive, optical C/DWDM multiplexers are provided by the integrated 3R functionality. The channel card can also operate as an intelligent and manageable protection switch by means of a simple software extension to be easily integrated in xWDM networks and fiber optic connections. The SPEED-DUALLINE SFP already supports the latest High-SPEED bus implemented in the SPEED-CARRIER. The rack mount card can be integrated both in the compact stand-alone housing, 4-slot SPEED-RACKHOUSING and the 20-slot SPEED-CARRIER. Management is provided by Telnet, SNMP or local CLI.
