Branch networking with “tagged” Ethernet frames using E1 leased lines
The SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE1 is the ideal solution to realize LAN-to-LAN connection by using a 2Mbps leased line. The device can be connected to both ITU G.703/G.704 framed (e.g. DTAG D2MS) and ITU G.703 unframed (e.g. DTAG D2MU) links.
The bridge automatically learns MAC addresses of those systems that are connected to the LAN forwards those packets whose destination address are not located in the local network. The two switched Ethernet interfaces can be used for connecting directly two separate Ethernet devices without the need of external switches. The address table saves up to 2,048 MAC addresses. The SPEED-BRIDGE is perfectly suited for transparent VLAN bridging (1,536 bytes).
The integrated loop function (remote loop) enables a fast and straightforward status monitoring in conjunction with the LED indicators - without the need of additional monitoring devices.
Branch networking via 4-wire copper line
In addition the SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE1 can be used as a modem for point-to-point operation using a 4-wire copper line to accomplish distances up to 1.7km. The main field of applications are short-haul networking of branches or in-house Ethernet connection using existing 4-wire copper lines.
The SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE1 can be installed in a 1-slot stand-alone housing or a 4-slot SPEED-RACKHOUSING (19").
The SPEED-RACKHOUSING provides the ability to optionally monitor the SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE1 via SNMP using a management module.
