Protocol transparent transmission in CWDM / DWDM networks

SDH, IP, storage and video applications can be connected to a 1310nm Singlemode and 850nm Multimode fiber optic link using the SPEED-CARRIER platform. Up to 64 applications can be concentrated on a Singlemode pair of fibers by combining the active transponder SPEED-DUALLINE SFP 3R and a passive xWDM multiplexer to achieve distances up to 250km.

1+1 line protection for any kind of protocol

By using the optional protection function of the SPEED-DUALLINE SFP 3R, e.g. a Gigabit Ethernet application can be transferred completely redundant over a backup Singlemode or Multimode fiber optic link. Thus a 1+1 line protection with automatic switch-over time in <50ms can be realized.

Two applications without external xWDM transmission via single pair of fibers

Another field of applications for a SPEED-DUALLINE SFP 3R is the cost-effective concentration of two Singlemode applications with four fiber optic uplinks for a transmission over a single pair of fibers. The fiber optic concentration can be accomplished in a space-saving 1-slot housing without the need of a passive xWDM multiplexer. A realization is achieved by just using bi-directional SFPs at the link side.
