Usecases
Extension of data services over copper lines
The new SPEED-DSL.bis series can be used flexibly for LAN-to-LAN and PBX connection supporting up to 60 Mbps (with 8-wire), 30 Mbps (with 4-wire) or 15 Mbps (with 2-wire copper lines). Thus distances up to 7 km can be achieved. The SPEED-DSL.bis (RAIL) offers a transparent transmission of VLAN “tagged” Ethernet traffic provided by the integrated Layer 2 bridge. The modems can be configured by software either as „master“ or „slave“ unit.
High-speed Ethernet connection via 2-/4- or 8-wire copper lines
Unlike other comparable products, the SPEEDDSL. bis Industrial supports both, conventional G.SHDSL and the new G.SHDSL bis standard in one unit. The ideal coding can be chosen depending on application, quality and length of a wire. In the event of a copper line loss caused by link problems, the modem continues to operate with second wire without interruption. The slave unit automatically synchronizes to the settings of the master unit with the best possible speed. The modems are available as plug & play units for DIN-rail mounting to be monitored and configured by console port, Telnet, SNMP and HTTP.
