The new SPEED-DSL.bis series can flexibly be used for LAN-to-LAN connection at a speed of 11.4Mbps over 4-wire or 5.7 Mbps over 2-wire copper lines by achieving distances up to 7 km. The SPEED-DSL.bis 5.7/11.4 offers a transparent transmission of VLAN “tagged” Ethernet traffic providing by the integrated Layer 2 bridge. The modem can be configured by software settings to operate as a master or slave unit. The slave units automatically synchronizes with the master unit for the best achievable data rate. Unlike other comparable products, the SPEED-DSL. bis 5.7/11.4 supports in one unit both conventional G.SHDSL and the new G.SHDSL.bis standard. The ideal coding can be chosen depending on application, quality and length of a wire. In the event of a copper line loss caused by link problems, the modem continues to operate with second wire without interruption. The modems are available as plug & play stand-alone units to be monitored and configured by console port, Telnet, SNMP and HTTP.
Optional software upgrade:
The software upgrade makes data rates up to 25.4 Mbps possible. With that a distance of 1 km can be coverd. The data rate decreases at longer distances.
