Branch connection using "tagged" Ethernet frames over E1 leased lines
The SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE1 is the ideal solution to realize LAN-to-LAN connections over digital 2Mbps leased lines. This bridge can be connected both to ITU G.703/G.704 framed (e.g. DTAG D2MS) and ITU G.703 unframed (e.g. DTAG D2MU) links. The SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE1 is able to automatically learn MAC addresses of those systems that are connected in the LAN and to forward only those packets whose destination are not located in the local network. The adress table can handle up to 2,048 addresses. The units are perfectly suited for transparent VLAN bridging (1,536 bytes). The loop function implemented in the SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE1 (remote loop) enables an immediate and easy status monitoring in connection with the LED indicators which means that the system requires no additional monitoring equipment. This bridge series can operate as a modem over 4-wire copper lines achieving a distance up to 1.7km. The SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE1 can be installed in a 1-slot or 3-slot stand-alone housing and can be integrated in the 19"-rack SPEED-SHELF (16-slots). The SPEED-SHELF provides the ability to optionally monitor the SPEED-BRIDGE G.703 FE via SNMP.
