Description
The SPEED-DSL series is suited for LAN-to-LAN connection with 4.6Mbps over 4-wire copper lines or 2.3Mbps using 2-wire copper lines. These modems can achieve distances up to 3.4 km using 0.6 mm wire diameter. The SPEED-DSL series transmit transparent VLAN packets. The units are divided into provider units (P) for installation in the service provider location or in the central office and in subscriber units (S) for implementation at the customer site or in the branch office. Up to 8 selectable data rates can be set using DIP switches on the provider unit, while the subscriber unit is automatically synchronizing accordingly. The SPEED-DSL 4.6 supports loop-bonding with a load-sharing function on four copper lines in order that the operation on the remaining copper lines (with each 2.3Mbps) is ensured in the event that one copper line fails. The units are available as plug & play stand-alone units.
