The SPEED-DSL 9.2 is ideally suited for LAN-to-LAN connections with data rates up to 9.2Mbps over 4 x 2-wire copper lines. Distances up to 3.4 km can be achieved with full bandwidth using copper lines with a diameter of 0.6mm. The SPEED-DSL 9.2 provides transparent transmission of VLAN “tagged” Ethernet traffic over a high-quality Layer 2 bridge. The units are divided into provider units (P) for installation in the service provider location or in the central office and in subscriber units (S) for implementation at the customer site or in the branch office.
Up to 8 selectable data rates can be set using DIP switches on the provider unit, while the subscriber unit is automatically synchronizing accordingly. The SPEED-DSL 9.2 supports loop-bonding with a load-sharing function on four copper lines in order that the operation on the remaining copper lines (with each 2.3Mbps) is ensured in the event that one copper line fails. The units are available as plug & play stand-alone units.
