The `embedded` CWDM solution is an easy-to-realize and cost-effective opportunity for data center connection. CWDM SFP optics are directly integrated in Fibre Channel / FICON switches. These generated CWDM wavelengths are aggregated to a pair of fibers by using passive CWDM multiplexer. This solution is even certified by Brocade. The operative costs (fiber rental) are drastically be reduced hereby as less numbers of required fibers are required by using CWDM multiplexer. Distances up to 80km can be achieved depending on the type of transceivers used.
