Backbone Expansion of ENTEGA Medianet For Higher Bandwidth
From business customer CPEs to MPLS nodes: Pan Dacom Direkt stands for high-performance carrier networks
The fitness of a carrier network is hardly any different from someone‘s own health. Strength and agility are excellent indicators of one‘s own fitness. In order to provide customers with more bandwidth, replace discontinued technology, and increase the fitness of its network, ENTEGA Medianet - the telecommunications and IT provider in southern Hesse - decided to use system procurement and implementation services of Pan Dacom Direkt. With its own broadband network, ENTEGA Medianet offers high-performance and secure telecommunication solutions. The company‘s portfolio ranges from classic telephony solutions, data services, and comprehensive internet services. The basis for this is the company‘s own high-performance fiber-optic and copper network that the company operates in southern Hesse.
Up to 4 Tbps switching capacity
Pan Dacom Direkt supported ENTEGA Medianet in planning and commissioning the backbone expansion in order to upgrade their networks to the latest technical standard. For this purpose, the existing pop locations were overbuilt. Modular 3U and 5U systems with switching capacities between 2.4 Tbps and 4 Tbps were used for the backbone chassis. The business CPEs were implemented with 1U 19-inch chassis with up to 16x10GE + 16x1GE ports and compact 1U chassis with 6x1GE ports. The backbone itself consists of a 100G OTN ring, which was jointly configured and commissioned as part of a migration project. From the beginning to the end: ENTEGA Medianet was able to fully rely on Pan Dacom Direkt’s services. From business customer CPEs, small aggregation nodes, to large MPLS nodes: Pan Dacom Direkt has many years of expertise in the expansion of communication networks.
Scalable backbone network
„Thanks to Pan Dacom Direkt, the project was implemented smoothly,“ Uwe Heil and Philipp Wipplinger, responsible for the project at ENTEGA Medianet, praised the good cooperation. „This ensures that we will be able to offer private and business customers affordable Internet access as well as fast and customized communications solutions for years to come,“ added Thomas Klose, responsible for IP networks and services at ENTEGA Medianet. Since all sites have been equipped with ROADMs, the backbone network can be further expanded.
