    The SPEED-DSL.bis EXTENDED series easily enables point-to-point connections by using one, two or four 2-wire copper lines. Up to 60.8 Mbps transmission bandwidth can be achieved using four 2-wire copper lines and line coding TC-PAM 4 up to TC-PAM 128. Depending on the type of modem, up to four Fast Ethernet, four E1 (G.703/G.704) and various serial interfaces (e.g. V.35, V.36, X.21, RS232) are available. The modems can be individually configured as master or slave unit. The units perform an automatic link diagnostics for independent adjustment to the optimal bandwidth, when used in point-to-point operation.

  • Increasing Distance Range by using DSL Repeaters with Remote Power Supply

    Achievable distances for DSL modems are limited, this problem can be solved by the use of SPEED-DSL repeaters. A special advantage is the ability to provide remote power feed. Used in a point-to-point connection up to four repeaters per location can be remotely powered. Consequently up to eight repeaters can be powered without the need of a local power supply.

  • Point-to-Multipoint Operation in order to provide TDM and Ethernet Services

    The SPEED-DSL.bis EXTENDED LTU is a 19" platform for realizing point-to-multipoint network topologies. Standalone units and DIN-rail modems with extended temperature range are available as CPEs (or NTUs). The management can be accomplished optionally by console port, Telnet, SNMP or web-based by using HTTP.

  • DSL Ring Deployment using of Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol

    The Rapid Spanning Tree protocol (RSTP) is supported by the SPEED-DSL.bis EXTENDED series which enables realization of DSL ring structures for connection of multiple locations. In case of a link failure, the transmission is secured by a backup path. The SPEED-DSL.bis EXTENDED series additionally support prioritized E1 traffic to provide secure transmission of time critical applications (e.g. voice). The voice prioritization assures that voice information is still transmitted - even when a copper pair fails. The minimal requirement for this purpose is a connection via two or four copper pairs.
